salty

Well friends, I finally did it. I finally went to the Spiral Jetty. It was amazing.

I've been wanting to go for QUITE a while, and I figured I could get some friends together and go for a belated brithday trip or... something. I had six strapping young lads who accompanied me on the long journey out there.

We were stuffed into a Suburban (okay, not stuffed at all) which Steve's amazing mom let him drive us up in. So many complicated plans came together beautifully even though I was such a Latepants McGee! Story of my life. I hate that I'm always late.

There's the goal for the week: DON'T BE LATE. In fact, BE EARLY! or just on time.

It was beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

Here are some things I learned on Saturday:

1. The salt bed is sharp! Shoes must be worn when walking on it.

2. Salt stings your eyes and sinuses if it gets into them when you put your head underwater. Poor Jeff and Brady.
3. It also stings other areas... if you uh... indulge your bodily functions while in the salt water.

4. The water in shallow areas is PINK.

5. You have no choice but to float. No swimming down. Against the laws of nature.

6. My camera is salt water proof!

7. That place is one big photo op.

8. When you get out, SALT is everywhere dried to your hair and skin in this almost powdery sticky crust.
9. You have to bring 2 gallons of water to rinse yourself of the crusty crust after your swim.

10. It's like another planet out there at sunset.

ALSO: I know you're out there reading these things I post for you. Speak up! I want to hear from you!

That is all.
