Hello again! Have you almost forgotten about me? I'm still here, and I have something to show you.

I saw this for the first time this morning and I've watched it probably 12 or 13 times since then. I love everything, everything, everything about this music video and about this song. It's by a Belgian-Australian singer/songwriter who goes by the stage name Gotye (interestingly, pronounced gore-ti-yeah. Hmm.) and it features a beautiful and powerfully voiced Kiwi singer/songwriter by the name of Kimbra.

This video doesn't leave me bored for one second. I especially love the interaction between the two of them in the second half of the video. It is reactive and heartfelt.. and brings in both sides of the story, and leaves you feeling a little confused, just like a relationship! Haha. But even his solo section in the first half just plain captivates me.

I think I'm in love with him. I love the way his face moves. Is that a weird thing to say?



Gonna watch it once more, then get to sleeping. Look at the time, for Pete's sake!!

We all know how I love Zooey! Oh thank the Heavens. I couldn't be happier about this. Perfect. Only problem: when does it AIR?!





Also, we all know how I love Elijah. I'm pretty excited about it. But. I hope the funny lasts more than a couple episodes.

Someone did an audition to this song last night on So You Think You Can Dance, and it reminded me how much I love this routine. This performance. Specifically. You might already know, but just in case you don't, this was choreographed by Mia Michaels and is meant to show the struggle with addiction. Kayla and Kupono are two incredible dancers who put such reality into this performance. Her face. His face. The way she tries to move, but is always "corrected" + how she's never actually bound, just manipulated is gorgeous and so moving. Sometimes Mia isn't my cup of tea precisely, but I love her. In this case she is absolutely genius.

The most stirring dance I've ever seen, it moves me to tears each time I watch it.

I've watching this video over the last few days and I just can't get over the spunky little girl in the beginning!

Shot during Paris + Milan Men's Fashion Week. I can imagine Derek Zoolander and his friends featured in this video. Also, it makes me wanna check out The Dandy Warhols, who play this song. With a name like that, I'm sure to like them! Dandy is one of my favorite words, you know.

PS: Did you spot Rick Genest? I've been seeing him everywhere, and I have a feeling his star is going to keep rising. One of the only parts of the "Born This Way" video I liked was his little vignette. (Mostly in 4:08-4:38 on YouTube in case you're interested.)

Anyway, this post went a little off track... But that's fine and dandy. Hope everyone is having a fine weekend! Spring is getting over it's fickle ways finally!

I love Gene Kelly. When I was little, I used to watch him in Jack and the Beanstalk at Nana + Papa's house. I still occassionally burst out into "A Woggle Bird walks!" Haha.

Anyway, I'm watching Singin' in the Rain for a film writing class I'm taking, and I've been loving Gene Kelly even more than ever.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? He's amazing. Ah. Mazing. Sheesh. The talent in this world.

Slacklining is something I attempted last summer. It is so much fun! It's a little scary and a lot difficult, but so fun! I've only ever done it at the park, and frankly, don't really want to do it anywhere else unless I get VERY VERY GOOD! I think I can get pretty good, but probably not very very good. Haha. Sometimes people do it high up in the air. Then it's called highlining. I'm just a humble "slackliner". (In quotes cause I'm not really that great yet) No highlining for this girl. Over water might be kinda fun though.

What the heck is slacklining?

You've probably seen it. People find a place to tie a slackline (usually between two trees) and walk across it like a tightrope. You can do fancy schmancy tricks too! It's all about balance.

I will never EVER be that good, but I have lots and lots of fun with my friends doing it anyway!

They're just so strange, slightly uncomfortable, and completely logical. You bring all your intimates (literally) and basically showcase them to whoever might happen to walk in with need of cleaning their intimates as well. You're at the mercy of the machines. Everyone sits. Everyone waits. Everyone folds. Everyone watches each other surreptitiously and sometimes not-so-surreptitiously.

Then everyone leaves with their fluffy (somtimes static-cling-filled) clean clothes.

Ahhh.. So much fun.

It rained this morning and everything looks so beautifully autumn and clean. Life is great.

So the Harvard Sailing Team makes YouTube videos, and the family who lives next-door to me introduced me to them. I've been quoting these non-stop since I saw them. (You probably will too.)
