I think no. one looks most like Enclosed, that one gets my vote.

ok. i think i would go with number 2 if i were you and here is why. take it or leave it, i don't know what i'm talking about.
--i feel like with the "L" touching the outer box on number 1 it makes it seem like it's splitting it in half and like it's two separate parts of the word. like "enc" and "osed" are enclosed. not the whole thing.
--with number three, i feel like there is maybe too much space? so while it is enclosed, it still has a sense of openness.
--number two has all of it enclosed and still feels tight and trapped. which is probably more of the feeling you were trying to go for.

So here's my two cents:

I like number one because having the font attach to itself makes it feel tighter therefore more...enclosed if you will. I feel that the readability is fine and that number 1 gets the point across most effectively. Plus having the font connect to itself illustrates the fact that the word begins with the letter "E" rather than a random dash.

So I vote number 1

One and two yes, definitely no on three.

I agree with Bry on the "enclosed feeling" one has, as well as making it easier to see the "E".

However, two jumped out at me first, as having the other letters "suspended" in the box, to me, creates more of that "enclosed feeling" - as if the letters are in this small room, know they can't escape, so just sit in the middle and try to be happy.

... wow, that was pretty deep, giving emotions to letters. Sorry about that one. ;)

i actually like #3 the best. it feels more enclosed for me, i don't know why...
