in Just-

e.e. cummings {or E.E. Cummings, if you prefer. I think it's somewhat of a controversy as to how exactly you're supposed to write his name out..} is one of my most favoritest poets ever. Here is one of my favorite of his poems, in Just-.

         in Just-

         in Just-
spring         when the world is mud-
         luscious the little
         lame balloonman

         whistles      far         and wee

        and eddieandbill come
        running from marbles and
        piracies and it's
        spring

        when the world is puddle-wonderful

        the queer
        old balloonman whistles
        far       and        wee
        and bettyandisbel come dancing

        from hop-scotch and jump-rope and

        it's
        spring
        and
              the

                      goat-footed

        balloonMan          whistles
        far
        and
        wee

                 e.e. cummings

The imagery in this poem is fantastic! You just can't beat "mud-luscious" and "puddle-wonderful'! And on top of that, there are so many possible meanings to this - all of them I love..

I typed "mud-luscious" into Google Images just to see what popped up, and I was very pleasantly surprized to find this:Isn't it great?

Well, then, I just had to make a little "inspiration board" for this poem. & here it is:

Those are such fun pictures to go with your poems. I'm not a very deep person like you. I've never really been into poems, perhaps I should start thinking about them, rather than just reading over them, maybe I'd like them more??? I love Julie's comment. too funny, too true. Love you sweet stuff!
