daisies

I had a good day today, and I thought it was blog worthy.

It started at 7:30 when I woke up and finished my Humanities take-home final. Then, I was out the door to take the art identification portion of the same final. Missy and I apparently studied with flash cards very successfully the night before, because I aced it! While reading my grade printout, I discovered that I have a 98 percent in that class! Huzzah! for the semester to have been successful in the Humanities arena! And on top of that, I am now more than halfway through with my finals this semester. Three down, two to go.

So after my 45 minute school day, I called my lovely aunt Teri on the drive home, and proceeded to order myself a McGriddle, and a hash brown from Mickey D's. When I got home with my breakfast, I discovered that I didn't quite get a McGriddle; I got a bagel sandwich. But, I didn't mind, I just took off one side of the bagel, and drizzled the newly open faced sammy in maple syrup and called it even. Boy was that hash brown yummy.

Oh, I failed to mention that I went to school having done none of my usual getting ready routine, so I looked like a zombie, yet somehow didn't care. After breakfast, I washed and curled my hair - which always lifts my spirits, but today they were already lifted, so it was sort of the icing on the first layer of an unfinished cake. Then off I drove to American Fork to visit Teri and check out what music she had on her computer.

Not only did she have great music, but I got to spend about 4 hours with three amazing people, talking about every-which-thing we could think of, kissing fat baby cheeks, listening to recordings of 3 year-old Connor singing, and eating Thin Mints.

When I arrived home, I got to watch a great episode of one of my favorite shows, Nanny 911, with Stephanie. I had been inspired to have lasagna for dinner (thanks to Teri!) so I headed off to the store to buy the makings. While I was there, I bought myself some beautiful daisies. I read in a {great} book called Eat, Pray, Love that the author bought herself flowers once a week just to feel good, and I've always wanted to buy myself flowers and have them in my room. So I did. I bought everything, and got 20 cents off on my next fill up at the gas station (which my wonderful mum offered to buy for me because of the errands I've been running lately)!

Inspired by my flowers, I decided to make dinner a lovely affair tonight. So, I cleaned off the table top, switched out the table cloth to match the flowers, and used them as a center piece. While Mom took a nap, I created our meal: lasagna, peaches, green beans, spinach salad, and garlic bread. YUM! I have to say, my table setting {including the food} was beautiful! Haha. After everyone had come home from their various activities, we had a wonderfully springy, warm, and beautiful family dinner.

Then, the girls of the family watched Little People, Big World together and the first 50 minutes of Where the Heart Is.. marvelous. Now, I'm actually going to go to bed before midnight and I'm loving it! Oh, and I just made this background from a picture I took of those glorious daisies, and it is now my desktop background. Woo.

Great day! I'm looking forward to tomorrow!
